Hmm... A disease plugin is kinda an interesting concept. Just something to think about ash. I know you have a huge list of stuff to do already.

I said they could be coal powered, OR water powered. My fake heart if water powered, otherwise it would have little steam pipes coming off of it.

This is a fantasy realm, there is no reason it has to be realistic. Maybe it is partly magical, if it makes everyone feel better.

I could let it pass if you add a lot more backstory. Right now it seems super messed up for us not to have steam power but cybernetics. I don't see it being something passed down for hundreds of years. How did the Wora get it? Toyeca?

Its not like it has wiring and is powered by electricity. I'll make backstory at some point, but the general gist of it will be: Ancient medicine used herbs and plants and things, which are rare in a desert, so wora never invented medicine. The wora probably have priests with healing powers, but they are most likely few and far between, so instead some blacksmiths, which wora have many of, developed Argery as an alternative to medicine.
Think of Coggers from the game FATE.

Hmmm... you have a point, but then how would Args be compatible with multiple species (Jaska like you, humans)?

Well, I'm assuming all the playable races have similar anatomy. Every race has a heart, and they all probably work similar, and I think args are sort of custom fit. Maybe they aren't fully compatible, maybe elves have a magic sac somewhere and there is no arg to fix it if something bad happens.

But: Argery leaves the patient with massive scars, and weakens them permanently (it's not a magic bullet), whether from surgical complications or the sheer weight of the device.

I don't see why it would weaken them permanently. Really, if the device is heavy it would eventually make them stronger. The thing is, it has no actual effect on gameplay. Its just an rp thing. If you still want your character to die they can, its just an interesting way for people to not die when they normally would.

Blob, an artificial heart made of iron would weigh about 20-30 pounds. And major surgery will weaken someone, no matter what. If you want such a device to exist, it better have an effect.

It doesn't need to have an effect, why you ask?

Yeah, Blob, this could be godmoding in a sense. It needs some sort of effect, unless you have a better excuse than that.
