Today, I will reveal to you all the wonders of how gravity works in minecraft!
So we all know that the world of minecraft is flat. We also know that most things float, with the exception of sand, gravel, the player, and mobs. But why? Because gravity in minecraft comes from two places, the superdense bedrock at the bottom of the world, and the mysterious gravity of the invisible sky limit. The gravitational pull of these things is usually equal, allowing such things as floating blocks. However, bedrock is magnetic! That is why metals are found underground, they are slowly pulled through the ground towards bedrock. Of course, this takes a very long time so it is not noticeable. But what about sand, gravel, mobs, and the player? Well all of these things also have metal inside of them, so they are pulled down to the bedrock, but because they have a greater weight and are usually constantly moving, they have greater inertia and are therefore pulled down faster. So if a mob was to stand still for millennia, it would sink down into the ground.
