How I heard of Skalas: I have a friend (I think you call him stormkai? something like that) and another friend (known as the melon farmer) who recommended Skalas as a cool place to RP.

RP Name: Chyppar
Age: 34
Race: Human
Bio: Chyppar was born on one of the smaller of the Isles of Bhans, growing up as a farmer. Life was tough, eking out a living on their small farm, but Chyppar was naturally strong, and he grew stronger as he fought to survive. His father was rather bipolar, switching between a kindly man and a raging tormenter at the drop of a hat. His mother was sickly, almost never able to get out of bed. Despite these hard conditions, Chyppar was able to support his family of eight, working nearly single-handedly to grow enough food to feed his three brothers.
However, Chyppar didn't want to be a farmer for life. He'd heard of lands far away, brimming with wonders and filled with many strange peoples. He toiled away, but his heart was set to wander as soon as his brothers were old enough to support their unstable family.
At the age of seventeen, a band of traveling merchants, whose ship had been destroyed in a recent storm, washed up on the shores of his village. Chyppar, having a decent personality, convinced the others to help him build a ship that could help these merchants return to their livelihoods.
When the boat was finished, Chyppar showed up at the launch party carrying all his possessions in a sack. He simply explained to the villagers that he wanted something more than wheat in life, and told them that he had been inspired by the merchants and their tales of the wider world. He entrusted the care of the family farm to his younger brother, then left his home, never to return.
Now, Chyppar is starting his life anew, preparing to become a merchant (or some other kind of traveler). He faces these new challenges with a sort of grim determination, ready to tackle them head-on.
