RP Name: Rakith Delsul
Age:19
Race: Human
Bio:
Rakith Delsul was the third of 4 sons born into the wealthy merchant Delsul family. With a father always adamant about being strictness and being the best in what you do, he decided to raise his family as if it were a competition. You didn't get recognition from him for being his flesh and blood, you get recognition by how much money you make. It wasn't a family, it was a business. So to prove my worth I took over his shipping business at the young age of 15, and dominated the family competition. Father couldn't be happier.
I was sick of it. I needed an escape. The backstabbing, the constant fighting, I had no family, only rivals. So I ran away.
When I was 19 I decided to steal the pride of my father's fleet
(The Opulence Harbinger), and some wealth from his personal vault, in order to get away and make my own life.
At 19 the world was at my disposal. I had a pirate crew (they didn't know the pirate part yet, they'll find out eventually), could buy anything and take anything I wanted. And I had the determination to get it. Sadly it didn't last long.
I never ventured outside of familiar trade routes and was unaware of the currents and a weather in the area. Really just a stupid mistake cost me the ship. I sailed right into a storm. 3 hours into the struggle after being drenched, battered by the wind, slipping on the wet deck, and generally hating my day, disaster struck the ship. The crows nest was hit by a bolt of lightning.
The fire quickly spread over the cotton mast, and in a matter of seconds consumed the whole thing. Not even the torrential downpour would calm the flames. The fire continued to rage and weaken the mast. I realized that the ship could no longer be saved. I called to abandon the ship.
We rushed to the lifeboats without even thinking of the wealth left inside. Just before I entered the lifeboat, there was the sound of an explosion. The mast had snapped, and it was falling for me. Without thinking I kicked the lifeboat off of the deck to get it out of the way when I was smashed in the back. Everything went dark.
I woke up on a shore. I don't know how long I was out or where I was. I just knew that my back was torn open badly and I needed to find help and to know where I was. So with a broken pride (and several broken ribs) I hobbled on up the shoreline, and into the world.
