I don't know how many of you play the kind of games that this idea comes from, so this may be familiar to some of you, because it is completely unoriginal.
So there are two groups of people on the server:
People like me who are good at MC combat and want that to be the combat.
And people like Conzo who think attacks don't count unless you make a /me RP of doing them.
So why not have both?
When you are going to fight someone, you decide to either do an RP fight, or whats known as a verb fight.
RP fight: Someone suggested a looooong time ago a simple plugin that rolls a die with a command. This would need this, because this combat would consist of typing a /me attack attempt and a /me defense attempt, then both people would roll and the winner, wins. For example:
Bob thrusts his sword at Joe's heart.
Joe tries to dodge the blade.
Bob rolls a 5
Joe rolls a 7
Joe dodges the blade
Say Bob wins instead. Now you determine the outcome.
You start with 20 health, like normal minecraft.
You have to know how much damage your weapon does.
They take that damage minus how much armor they have.
You actually hit them for durability purposes
You continue until someone reaches 0 health, at which point they are unconscious. Due to the code of chivalry, you are not allowed to kill them or steal items from them, unless you have a purpose to murder them (They want their character to die too) or you are a thief and don't care (They are okay with you taking items.)
Verb fight: Normal MC fighting, first one killed is unconscious.
