Well, since demons are either evil arch demons or slaves to said evil arch demons, and being demons, I figured they would be the antagonists. I think it would be better to have a war between elves and woras, and everyone else sorta caught in between. Because as a friend of mine once said, conflict is the cause of cooperation. Without a reason to work together, most people won't. So if thinking that creatures who are evil, and have to be evil, are the bad guys, is flawed, then I apologize. And now that that is cleared up, lets try and keep this thread about balancing races and magic, I'd rather it stay on topic until at least the 3rd page.

The demons should have a huge bonus in the nether

^ Agreed. Something like able to... ummm... no spell cost in nether? Spawn 3 skeletons? 3 points added to damage?

Why skele-men? Blazes make MUCH more sense.

That's actually a great idea, have demons be better in the nether. If we wanted, we could take it even further. Jaska are designed to be overpowered in water, and demons should be stronger in the nether, but what if elves are stronger when lots of trees are nearby, woras are stronger in deserts, and humans are stronger when there are more humans around?

That'll be hard to code. Is there someway for the server to tell what the player is standing on? If it's possible then make the elves better on grass and logs, humans in dirt, cobble, stone and planks, the woras in sand and gravel, jaskas in water, demons on netherack, soulsand, nether brick.

I was thinking it would work better if you did it with the biome code. Now, I have no idea what I'm talking about, so bear with me. Jaska being in water would be different, because there's water everywhere, but if the Wora are in a desert biome, they get a buff, Elves in forest/jungle, and I'm pretty sure nether would be possible.

Hmmm... That could work. Maybe the humans in plains biome?

Humans in plains? Jaska in Ocean? Demons in Hell? (Those are the official biome names)

So pretty much what we said, this should work... I think

Jaska wouldn't be linked to a biome, they would be linked to water itself, because that's all of their race specials, not just a bonus thing. Demons in the nether, I'm pretty sure its not called hell, not being hell, and that would make sense. With other races, it could be interesting, but its not necessary. Humans in plains sure, Elves in forest, Wora in desert, they would get a small buff.

The swamps could be like a neutral place

Spell slots should be either decided by bio rather than race, or heavily overhauled. Like, 3 slots for ALL humans wouldn't make sense. Also, 5 spell slots really isn't much (given there's like 30 or so in Praecantatio), especially if we have to earn them. 1 slot for other races is so insignificant; if they're going to have magic at all, they should have more. My character already knows several spells.

You can know as many spells as you want, but only have 5 active ones, and your slots are determined by race at the start, I agree there should be a way to get more. There are a ton of spells in the plugin, and eventually you could know all of them, but you can never have access to all of them at the same time. Forcing people to prepare spells makes being a mage require actual intelligence to do it well.

Originally, it was going to be called Hell, and thats the Biome's official name.
