[Gameplay] Magic and Races

Praecantatio

• Spells must be prepared beforehand.
  
• Casting time. Lower for lower, and able to be interrupted.
  
• Requires experience to learn new spells.
  
• Redstone to actually cast.
  
• Spells as a whole are not incredibly powerful, just being a supplement.
  
• Three existing levels of spell: "spellname", "SPELLNAME"/"Spellname!", and "magna spellname"
  
• There is an uber spell with a fifteen second cast time, 50 (may change) level cost, and large kill radius.
  
• For every point of armor, spells have a 5% chance of failure and miscasting.
  
• Yes, you can add additional spell slots, but the multiplier is factored in, so some races will have a hard time learning magic. For everyone, getting this additional spell slots is REALLY HARD.
  
• Spells have several tiers which indicate how many spell slots they take up. For example: Summon Mega Ultra Chicken would cost three slots, being a high level spell; Throw Several Snowballs would cost one slot, being a low level spell.

Sounds good, I can do some of this. Casting time, i'm unsure about. It'd be hard to set up, and would potentially lag out the server. I like the idea of spells using redstone, but experience works too. Spell slots.... *starts brainstorming*

Oh no, spells use still use redstone, they cost experience to learn, and you can learn as many as you want, but you assign to spell slots and can only use assigned ones.

I like the overall idea, but I think you haven't balanced the races well enough. With that plan, humans are just slightly less powerful demons. Humans should have unique bonuses. I guess that should be where music comes in. Humans should have like 4 song slots. I also don't like the idea of demons having a damage boost. I guess it's ok, but it shouldn't be more than the human boost.

Umune and I were thinking that Demons should be slightly overpowered, because they are sorta meant to be the antagonists so every one will be fighting them. I do like the song slots however.
Makes Humans more interesting.

Also with the different spells and such for races, we were thinking like this: Elves live along time, so they spend more time mastering one spell, hence the enhanced cost, but their natural talent with magic lets them have many spell slots. Humans aren't as good with magic, so they have less spell slots. Demon can learn spells really fast, but are limited in spell slots. Jaska and Wora are very rarely magic users, so it one of them along time to learn spells and they can only use one at a time. They have that mostly so every race can have some access to magic, so if someone wants to be a mage they can, no matter their race. The race specials I think are fine, and to clear things up with Woras: They have magic resistance because hating being called elves, and living in the desert, I feel like they hate elves and their trees as well. So I figured long ago and maybe more recently, they fought elves a lot, and their race built up a tolerance to magic to help them fight.

Why are we already determining antagonists?

Because we're doomed. GUYS: WORK OUT THE PROBLEMS NOW. DON'T GO WITH A FLAWED MODEL.

On the other hand, Umune is one of only two people I believe can pull off an antagonist race. The other being me.

Not even Ash, Scud, or Splamz can do it in my opinion.

That post made me want to kill something it was so aggressive. I think you need to think things through before you post ozz. You say so many things that are often so wrong... You have no idea as to whether or not Ash, Scud or I could pull it off. And to be honest, I don't think you could pull it off. You'd be overly aggressive. However, I do agree that Umune can definitely pull it off.
